19:47 Megan: Hi Brian

19:47 Brian: hello again megan

19:47 Brian: for some reason i thought that we were group D

19:47 Megan: how is it going?

19:47 Megan: lol

19:48 Brian: going good, trying to figure out exactly how I want to present the instructional area on movement

19:48 Megan: that is kind of a tough one

19:49 Brian: i found a video that was really good on teleporting, but feel like I could do a better job of using camtasia to create my own video on walking around, swimming, etc

19:49 Megan: nice

19:49 Brian: not sure if it is possible for each of the methods, but i want to allow them to practice the actions after they finish the video

19:50 Brian: for example, actually teleporting to a specific location... maybe teleporting somewhere where they can practice swimming

19:50 Megan: that sounds completely possible

19:50 Brian: two for the price of one

19:51 Brian: in terms of Pams screen on the first floor that has multiple links built in...

19:51 Brian: To create a screen with multiple video options do you simply create a larger background screen and add small flat prims that have hyperlink scripts built into each?

19:51 Megan: I think that that sounds like a possibility, but you may way to ask pam about that tonight

19:52 Megan: Hi Matt

19:52 Matthew: hi there

19:52 Matthew: how are you both

19:52 Brian: hi matt

19:52 Megan: How is it going?

19:52 Matthew: its going

19:52 Megan: I am rebuilding the welcome sign and area. I logged on today to find it missing

19:52 Brian: doing well... the warmer sun sure helped today

19:53 Matthew: thats weird

19:53 Brian: really? That is crazy

19:53 Megan: What is it like there?

19:53 Matthew: that the sign is gone

19:53 Megan: We were in the mid 80s today

19:53 Matthew: sunny 70ish here

19:53 Megan: nice

19:53 Brian: where do you live megan?

19:53 Matthew: it was nice

19:54 Megan: Fort Collins, CO. I am an hour north of Denver, half hour south of Cheyenne, WY

19:54 Brian: i guess that means the weather is on its way to us

19:55 Matthew: 80s tomorrow i hope since I will spend the night out ata track meet

19:55 Megan: lol

19:55 Megan: That is what I always tell my folks in Cleveland, OH

19:55 Brian: funny, same here

19:55 Brian: i have a track meet as well i mean matt

19:56 Brian: but i am excited to have both my saturday and sunday for the first time in months

19:56 Matthew: me too

19:56 Megan: nice

19:56 Matthew: I need to catch up with everything

19:58 Megan: I'm doing that tomorrow at school. my kids r going to the hs to check it out

19:58 Matthew: I have a question for you both, for building should I focus more on the things that we did in class? I am not sure how important the drawers and such will be

19:58 Pam: Hey!

19:58 Matthew: hi

19:58 Brian: hi pam

19:59 Megan: Hi Pam

19:59 Pam: Office hours got out early?

19:59 Megan: yeah

19:59 Megan: It was Trish, Lorikay, Tony and myself

19:59 Brian: pam thanks for the heads up on how to access the code

19:59 Pam: Everybody's busy doing homework

19:59 Pam: Welcome!

19:59 Brian: i never realized that you gained access once you copied

19:59 Megan: Trish and I asked some questions and I have some news to report once Trish and Patrick get here

20:00 Pam: Somebody told me about it.

20:00 Pam: Just passing it on.

20:00 Matthew: Thanks

20:00 Brian: thank you!!!

20:00 Pam: Thanks Megan

20:01 Matthew: I like the way you set up the billboards pam

20:01 Pam: I was worried the place wouldn't look "full" but I think it will be ok

20:01 Megan: oh speaking of which. Pam, do you know anything about the welcome area outside of your space? It was missing when I logged on today.

20:02 Matthew: most definately

20:02 Pam: No, Megan. I didn't notice that area.

20:02 Pam: The whole thing?

20:02 Megan: yeah. I almost have it all rebuilt now.

20:02 Megan: I just have to put back up the sign.

20:02 Pam: The welcome area in the center?

20:02 Pam: Yikes!

20:03 Megan: No, the welcome sign in front with the trees and bushes

20:03 Pam: Would have thought I'd have notice that, but i didin't

20:03 Pam: sorry

20:04 Megan: no big. Luckily that area goes up pretty easily

20:04 Pam: The only people I've seen in there are you and Tony and Brain

20:04 Pam: Brian

20:04 Megan: me too

20:04 Brian: other then copying our prims, is there anything else we can do to save them from deletion?

20:05 Megan: it really isnt' a big deal. I was just wondering what had happened

20:05 Pam: I don't think so.

20:05 Pam: I know at first people didn't know that take would remove it but now I think they're all using take a copy

20:06 Megan: We can lock them but I'm not sure if that stops take and delete

20:06 Brian: take a copy does not remove the object though?

20:06 Pam: Well, it's worth a try

20:06 Pam: No take a copy doesn't remove it

20:06 Pam: Go to more then take a copy

20:06 Brian: just take does

20:06 Pam: right

20:06 Matthew: if you just take it goes away

20:07 Pam: I learned that by accidentally taking someone's bush. uckily I could just put it back easily.

20:07 Pam: Luckily

20:07 Pam: Surprised me!

20:07 Brian: i luckily took a copy of my house, so I was able to replace it when someone accidentally deleted half of it while i was gone

20:08 Megan: that happened to me too. my first went completely missing

20:08 Megan: but i hadn't taken a copy of it

20:08 Pam: Wow. A house!

20:08 Trish: hello everyone.

20:08 Brian: hey trish

20:08 Megan: hey trish

20:08 Megan: cool, we are just waiting on Patrick now

20:08 Pam: hey

20:09 Trish: i left metaverse to scrub my bathroom. SL is sometimes much better than RL!

20:09 Brian: haha

20:09 Megan: I will be back in 2 minutes. When Patrick gets here I will share what Tony had to say.

20:09 Matthew: in a rare instance haha

20:09 Pam: It sure is and I can gain and lose weight whenever I want

20:10 Pam: or change my hair color

20:10 Pam: and nobody messed up my house

20:10 Trish: with a simple slide of a bar.

20:10 Pam: glorious

20:10 Megan: too funny. I want to lose weight. This whole baby weight thing is crummy

20:10 Pam: it is awful

20:10 Trish: it will go away soon.

20:10 Pam: I gained 90 pounds with my first - bad idea

20:10 Trish: besides, you're too busy to eat!

20:10 Pam: It will. If I got rid of mine you can get rid of yours!

20:11 Pam: Nature pretty much puts it on and takes it off

20:11 Pam: I think we moms need reserves to take care of little ones

20:11 Trish: very true,

20:12 Pam: big storm here

20:12 Megan: ok, I'm back

20:12 Pam: if i lose power you'll know what happened

20:12 Trish: where are you?

20:12 Pam: the lights just flashed

20:12 Megan: lol. I gained 60

20:12 Pam: east peoria

20:12 Trish: ah, I just checked th radar and saw the storm.

20:12 Pam: two scared dogs

20:12 Trish: I think it will just skim me.

20:12 Pam: it is pouring here

20:12 Pam: wind and lightning

20:13 Trish: I love thinderstorms!

20:13 Megan: yipes

20:13 Pam: i do too but no battery backup for internet

20:13 Matthew: i hope thats not coming north

20:13 Trish: Except my nearly new roof keeps springing new leeks.

20:13 Megan: we are entering into a beautiful sunset and it is now in the upper 70s

20:13 Trish: not leeks, leaks.

20:13 Pam: new with leaks?

20:13 Trish: leeks on the roof would be silly.

20:13 Pam: lol

20:14 Megan: hehe

20:14 Trish: Megan, I guess the blizzard is resolved then?

20:14 Brian: i didn't realize that we were going to even get rain tonight let alone a thunderstorm

20:14 Pam: me neither

20:14 Megan: hehe yeah

20:14 Pam: did Tony tell you he upgraded the server?

20:14 Trish: It's headed towards the west subs.

20:14 Trish: It's headed towards the west subs.

20:14 Pam: i ran into him today and he told me that

20:14 Megan: it is crazy around here. the day after the blizzard it was in the 50s and then the next day in the 70s

20:15 Pam: we went from 50s to70s and tomorrow 88!

20:15 Megan: yeah we were in the mid 80s today

20:15 Pam: unless that's been changed with the storm

20:15 Trish: the children will be crazed!

20:15 Megan: where is west peoria?

20:15 Pam: I think it's just the west end of Peoria

20:16 Megan: k, where is peoria?

20:16 Pam: east peoria's on the other side of the river from Peoria

20:16 Pam: The storm is moving fast.

20:17 Megan: What area of the state? north, south... near chicago? I really have no idea unless it is along I-80

20:17 Pam: storm but not so violent

20:17 Pam: middle of the state

20:17 Pam: South of I 80

20:17 Pam: North of springfield

20:17 Megan: gotcha

20:17 Pam: but closer to springfield than chicago

20:17 Megan: I have only been through Illinois on 80 and 70

20:17 Pam: 45 minutes from isu

20:18 Pam: i used to live in the chicago area

20:18 Pam: love it here - no traffic and grass instead of concrete

20:18 Megan: I've been to the town with Kraft

20:18 Pam: ?

20:18 Megan: Glen something or another

20:18 Megan: Glenbrook I think

20:18 Megan: Hi Patrick

20:18 Pam: Oh!

20:19 Trish: There are many Glens in these parts.

20:19 Pam: hi patrick

20:19 Matthew: yea thats glenbrook

20:19 Pam: there are a lot

20:19 Patrick: sorry ... game ran late due to gang issues

20:19 Matthew: my dad works at the hotel across from kraft

20:19 Megan: I had a college boyfriend that was from there.

20:19 Matthew: gang issues? wow

20:19 Megan: wow, Gang issues?

20:19 Trish: GDs?

20:19 Trish: Latin Kings>

20:20 Patrick: YES ... a predominantly black school with their gang signs came into our predominantly hispanic neighborhood and we have our own gangs

20:20 Megan: wow, small world Matt

20:20 Trish: not good.

20:20 Matthew: yea really

20:21 Megan: this group has some strange connections

20:21 Brian: way too much of that around here and i had similar issues in nyc

20:21 Trish: Megan, did you want to go over what we discussed with Tony?

20:21 Megan: yeah

20:22 Megan: Alright, so Trish and I were talking to Tony about the media on our parcel.

20:22 Megan: We were wondering how to have multiple music and video streams on the land.

20:22 Megan: Tony suggested that he could make one person the owner of the land and then we could control that.

20:23 Trish: only the land owner can add the URLs to the land.

20:23 Megan: Furthermore, what we can do is subdivide our land and match people up with subparcels to own

20:23 Pam: makes sense

20:23 Patrick: I thought we were going to use youtube to get around that?

20:23 Megan: that way they have full access

20:23 Megan: this is another option

20:24 Megan: this way people can choose whatever they are comfortable with

20:24 Pam: tony isn't worried about the server load? He upgraded today.

20:24 Pam: so maybe it isn't an issue now

20:24 Megan: he doesn't seem to be

20:24 Brian: is it possible to control multiple video streams on the same local area?

20:25 Megan: There is one minor kink to it.

20:25 Pam: he was talking about setting up the ability to talk instead of type

20:25 Megan: yeah Brian

20:25 Matthew: could that get to confusing if multiple streams are playing at once?

20:25 Megan: you can set when it plays

20:25 Brian: that was the problem i ran into in my house... two screens = two sounds at the same time

20:25 Pam: what kink

20:25 Trish: I was planning to do touch to play scripts so they're not all runnin.

20:25 Megan: ok, so each subparcel works vertically

20:26 Brian: that would get around that issue trish

20:26 Megan: so, if Pam is running a video on the first floor, Brian cannot have a video streaming in the same fashion directly above Pams

20:27 Megan: However he can have one streams slightly off to the side of Pams, provided it is on a different subdivided area

20:27 Pam: I'm ok with not streaming

20:27 Megan: That shouldn't really be an issue seeing as we could do them vertically, one through youtube and one through the land

20:27 Megan: does that make sense?

20:27 Pam: Going out to a www is fine with me

20:27 Trish: y

20:28 Patrick: OK with me

20:28 Matthew: yea i like external links best

20:28 Megan: So I told Tony that I would email him with the person he should give the initial permission to.

20:28 Brian: nice to have both options... and we should probably incorporate both

20:29 Pam: Will new people know to control the streaming at the bottom of their screen

20:29 Pam: plus they have to enable the streaming video

20:29 Brian: but at least the externals will make life easier for the way the house is set up

20:29 Pam: some of us had trouble figuring that out

20:29 Megan: right, we can include directions for that in the welcome center

20:29 Trish: Megan, were you going to parcel our land?

20:29 Pam: sounds good

20:29 Megan: So that is what I was going to propose

20:29 Patrick: a streaming vid about streaming media?

20:30 Megan: I can tell Tony that I will take the initial ownership and then I will subdivide it and assign owners

20:30 Patrick: OK with that

20:30 Megan: No, like a notecard about streaming media

20:30 Pam: works for me

20:30 Trish: very good.

20:30 Patrick: still OK with it

20:31 Megan: cool

20:31 Matthew: thats fine

20:31 Megan: Along similar lines....

20:31 Megan: I am making a drop box for my SLA and I was thinking that it might be a great idea to have a questions box in each section where people could submit questions. Then we could put up bulletin boards with answers to FAQ

20:32 Megan: I know that Pam already has something across from the elevator, but I was thinking that we could put the FAQ bulletin boards up across from the elevators on each floor

20:32 Brian: do you mean have one bulletin board or one in each section?

20:33 Patrick: Perfect - I think my board is already up!

20:33 Megan: one in each section, specific to that content

20:33 Trish: Who would answer the questions for future users?

20:33 Megan: everyone's thoughts?

20:34 Megan: I was thinking that if Tony continues to use this area then he could

20:34 Pam: good questoin trish

20:34 Patrick: To Trish's question .... are we anticipating FAQ or are we leaving it there for future generations to help each other

20:34 Megan: or ask Jin to

20:34 Matthew: I think that would be good for Tonby

20:34 Trish: we should check with tony. He might want to stick to the forum.

20:34 Matthew: or a TA

20:34 Pam: i don't like the idea that someone might not get answered

20:34 Pam: do you think they'd keep up on all the boards?

20:34 Matthew: maybe we could just use it to link to the forum

20:35 Megan: I think a TA would

20:35 Trish: I think a link to the forum would be better.

20:35 Patrick: and to the FAQ section of the CTER main site (which has SL tutorials)

20:35 Megan: yeah

20:35 Pam: I like that idea

20:35 Trish: the boards would be cool and all that jazz, but I won't be checking

20:35 Megan: cool cool

20:35 Patrick: and maybe some of those external links that Pam sent

20:35 Brian: neat idea, especially if future groups would use it to help eachother

20:35 Megan: So boards that link to the forum

20:36 Patrick: so, we would be tracking down the FAQ elsewhere and providing a bulletin board full of helpful links

20:36 Brian: our forum is password protected though right?

20:36 Megan: yeah it is

20:36 Brian: so future classes wouldn't be able to see it? or maybe its the same board tied to all classes?

20:37 Pam: what about a wiki page

20:37 Megan: We could just post some FAQ

20:37 Megan: I can ask Tony some of these things

20:37 Pam: people could ask and answer q's

20:37 Matthew: well if we set it up to go to the forum, future classes could change the script to the new website

20:37 Patrick: if other Profs are going to start using the metaverse - the FAQ might get its own section like the current Tech Support forum

20:38 Pam: can i just add the faq link(s) to the board i have? it took a long time to set up the clickable areas and the only free space i have is for my scavenger hunt

20:38 Megan: sure

20:38 Pam: thanks

20:39 Megan: oh, speaking of which...

20:39 Megan: Pam, thanks for pointing out the areas for the notecard boxes. Would you mind if I placed them on the nearest column instead of floating over the images

20:39 Megan: Or would you prefer them floating?

20:40 Megan: It doesn't matter to me

20:40 Pam: If everyone is putting them on a column i can do the same

20:40 Pam: i just wanted to get the notecards up and wasn't sure how we'd be doing something uniform

20:40 Megan: One of my duties was to design a notecard box

20:41 Brian: i don't have a column on the third floor, but we could come up with a similar idea

20:41 Megan: I will have it up tonight

20:41 Pam: yep so i knew what i made was probably temporary

20:41 Megan: Yeah, we could have them just below or next to objects on the floor

20:41 Pam: it'll be easy to put the script and notecard in another object

20:42 Pam: doesn't matter to me

20:42 Megan: ok, well everyone do what you feel is best and we can look at them again in the future.

20:43 Pam: how will we get the boxes

20:43 Pam: can you put one out somewhere for us all to take a copy

20:43 Megan: I will put on in each space. then just make copies

20:43 Matthew: looks are easy to change if we decide we like one persons and want to change to that format

20:43 Pam: thanks

20:43 Megan: no problem

20:43 Trish: great.

20:43 Brian: okay, thanks

20:44 Megan: Pam, I placed the pool in the back area as well as the sandbox

20:44 Pam: i saw that and took a swim!

20:44 Pam: do you want a sign and a notecard for that

20:44 Brian: awesome, i could teleport to the pool for them to practice swimming

20:44 Megan: Brian, perhaps in your area when you talk about swimming there can be a teleport to the pool

20:44 Megan: I will do that

20:44 Pam: k

20:44 Megan: hehe, great minds think alike

20:44 Brian: there you go again, on the same wavelength

20:45 Megan: cool.... anything else?

20:45 Pam: megan were you talking about the pool sign when you said i will do that - or another conversation

20:46 Megan: I will take care of the pool sign.

20:46 Megan: This way all of the signage will look uniform

20:47 Brian: Megan, is it alright to get my screen shots to you later on Saturday or does that inconvenience you?

20:47 Pam: k I just want to say that Tony complimented us (Megan!) on the building and I also want to say how wonderful the elevators are!

20:47 Megan: no that is fine Brian

20:47 Megan: Thanks PAm

20:47 Trish: Megan has done an outstanding job on our building!

20:47 Brian: i agree, thank you megan

20:47 Pam: I love it!

20:48 Brian: i was showing it off earlier tonight

20:48 Matthew: yea it blew me away when I went in to see what we had yesterday

20:48 Megan: Thanks guys. That means a lot!

20:48 Pam: do you want one screen shot each

20:48 Pam: or more

20:49 Megan: screen shots of your progress.... whatever that takes

20:49 Pam: k

20:49 Megan: Also...

20:49 Brian: matt, what are your thoughts on dividing/creating the area we are sharing? Can I focus on my section through Saturday and maybe even Sunday then move down to the first floor after that? Maybe meet again or email how we want to create it

20:50 Megan: I added a section to the wiki called Progress. It is broken into weeks. Each day that you do work in there can you just add a little blurb. I did a couple of days as an example

20:50 Brian: sorry megan, didn't mean to jump in if you had more

20:50 Megan: ooo.... someone is on our elevators

20:50 Patrick: sure ... why not!?

20:50 Pam: Sounds good, Megan. Trish, will you be sure to just ask when you need help?

20:50 Matthew: brian that works for me. I am going to do all my work Saturday

20:51 Matthew: I'd much prefer to Blitz it all in one day

20:51 Trish: yes indeed.

20:51 Pam: K!

20:51 Patrick: its easier that way -- when your thoughts are all focused on building!

20:51 Brian: i agree... if nothing else, i'll already be on the land so we can just discuss it then

20:52 Matthew: that sounds good

20:52 Megan: I'm so excited about all of this guys! We really have a great group!

20:52 Trish: I plan to do a lot of work Saturday evening.

20:52 Pam: we do!

20:52 Patrick: anyone have a script for opening/closing curtains?

20:53 Trish: It's been crazy with baseball season.

20:53 Brian: all day saturday is booked in SL for me!

20:53 Megan: I don't Patrick, but I can look for one. We may want to ask about that in our forum

20:54 Trish: sorry, no curtain script.

20:54 Matthew: The McCulley's will be on SL all weekend long...it might be the first time Carole and I get to spend time together in a week

20:54 Trish: quality SL time.

20:54 Pam: no just a sliding door script

20:54 Trish: Will you be in the same room?

20:54 Patrick: Dave has a door script - I'll grab it or something like it when that zone opens back up.

20:54 Pam: maybe you could use it on each side

20:54 Patrick: I can go back later and add them

20:54 Megan: lol, sometimes that is how my husband and i spend time... in world of warcraft

20:54 Brian: lol, at least it makes for a cheap date night matt

20:55 Matthew: yea really

20:55 Brian: all you need to do is order a pizza and you are golden

20:55 Trish: ok guys. I have to do my evening chores.

20:55 Matthew: Little Ceasars 5 dollar pizza

20:55 Trish: I agree that we have a tremendous team. Thanks for everything.

20:56 Megan: I'm sorry that this has taken all of Greys time Pam

20:56 Matthew: I hope I can keep up

20:56 Brian: same here matt

20:56 Brian: thank you all. see you all in SL this weekend

20:56 Trish: g'night.

20:56 Pam: i can watch full episodes on the computer

20:56 Patrick: later mater

20:56 Pam: night!

20:57 Megan: it is about to come on here. I have a phone chat set up after it with a friend

20:57 Matthew: see you there for sure

20:57 Megan: hehe

20:57 Megan: 'night guys. I'll be working in our area for a while if anyone needs help or has questions

20:57 Matthew: sounds good
