[1:52:23 PM MDT] Matt
These are all good ideas.  How do we want to split up the work load?  Also I checked out the wiki and it looks good.  Should we still log what we are doing in the moodle chat?  Would that be better than emailing back and forth?

Why don't we use the wiki to communicate.  For instance, Matt, you said

you want to work on the movie.  You could go into the wiki and add that

comment in the section about the jobs.  I would imagine we should all

add our ideas to the wiki first, then we can meet to finalize how we'll

move forward with construction.  First we need a solid list of ideas

plus some good categories to use to build certain welcome areas.  For

next week we have to have a finalized list of what we're going to build

and the jobs divided up.  If we gather ideas the beginning of the week,

we can meet mid to later in the week to finalize these decisions and

post to the forum.  I can meet any evening around 6 or 7 PM.  If we meet

Wed. or Thurs we run into Tony's help sessions unless we meet about 8:30

PM.  Let's use the wiki to set up the times.  I'll post to it when I can

meet and everyone can add to it what works or doesn't for them in terms

of times as well.

Happy Easter All,

Just returned home from Florida and counting down the days until this course is complete.  I really like the idea of the wiki.  It should make our meeting much more productive.  I will begin adding to it later tonight.

I've added some stuff to the wiki, including my availability. I think

that Tony prefers that we do not communicate through email unless

someone compiles all of it in a neat and orderly fashion for him. As a

result, let's try to frequently check the wiki and do all of our

communicating there and when we meet in Moodle Chat. Is everyone ok

with that?

Megan

P.S. I have so many emails on this account that I think that I have

misplaced something. Pam continues to mention a welcome center. I was

thinking that it would be really great if we created a cross-

curricular lesson, each of us contributing something from our content

area towards one particular topic. Thoughts? We then just need to

create find a topic of interest and do research individually. If no

one minds, I would love to create a structure for something like this,

similar to what I did for my house. I think that the workload would

easily divide itself up then.

Megan, if you're missing emails, just go to the community building forum

for next week.  They're all in there I think.

This is what Tony said during office hours one week in Metaverse about

this project.  Just an fyi as we make our decisions.

[16:46]  Tony Hursh: I would like for you to either hold your group

discussions in Moodle, or post logs of your discussions if you use

another technology.

[16:46]  Tony Hursh: I want to study how you decide what you build, and

the group dynamics.

[16:46]  Marsha Foshee: Is it still ok to meet in Metaverse?

[16:46]  Mary Dooms: Will you be setting up a wiki within moodle for

discussions?

[16:46]  Tony Hursh: Also, that will help in assigning the group grade.

:-)

[16:46]  Tony Hursh: There are forums for that.

[16:46]  Tony Hursh: You can use the CTER Wiki if you want....

[16:47]  Tony Hursh: Sure, Marsha.

[16:47]  Tony Hursh: Just make sure to save the chat log and post it.

[16:47]  Mary Dooms: A group forum?

[16:47]  Tony Hursh: Yeah, I think I put up forums for each week that

the group project is running.

[16:47]  Tony Hursh: Let me know if I overlooked one.

[16:48]  Tony Hursh: In fact, you'll probably want to have at least some

group planning or work sessions in here.

[16:48]  Mary Dooms: The group project...does theme or topic better

[16:48]  Tony Hursh: What you build and how you divide up the work will

be up to you.

[16:48]  Tony Hursh: If one person does all of one aspect, that's fine.

Or if you all work together on every aspect, that's also fine.

[16:48]  Tony Hursh: Just make sure every person does an equitable

amount of work.

[16:49]  Mary Dooms: How collaborative do you want it? If it's a

building with rooms one person does one room...

[16:49]  Tony Hursh: If that's the way your group plays out....

[16:49]  Mary Dooms: another does another room. We're working together,

but not really.

[16:49]  Tony Hursh: But I don't see that leading to a cohesive project.

[16:49]  Tony Hursh: It does need to have some overall theme.

[16:50]  Tony Hursh: So gluing four independent projects together

probably wouldn't inspire me to give you a great grade. :-)

[16:50]  Mary Dooms: I agree.

[16:50]  Tony Hursh: I won't say don't do that, but I'd advise against

it.
