Megan (and all),

I would like to include two videos in my area along with several pictures with notecards and a scavenger hunt type map activity.  Megan, I know you want us to send you a screen shot/picture for the object that will deliver our notecards.  Will we have something for video that's consistent?  I know showing lots of video in world is a problem in terms of the server load, but I could link to outside video.  One is a You Tube video and the other I will be creating using Jing.  The Jing video I can put on a web server and just link to it like the You Tube video.  Should we just use the same format with a screen shot/picture that delivers a notecard to deliver our video link?  And if you "give" each one of us one object with a picture that you want us to use consistently, could we not just duplicate it and add our own pictures etc.?  That would be less work for you and keep us looking consistent.

Right now I have plans for a notecard/info on OpenSim map use, one of the same for Second Life (a kind of comparison to OpenSim), a notecard/info on mini-map use, one of the same for SL (comparison again), a Jing video tutorial that gives a review or overview of the notecard information, a You Tube video about using maps in SL, and a scavenger hunt activity/notecard.  If I put the scavenger hunt activity across from the elevator in my area, then there is room for one item between each column except for where you enter from a walkway and going around the corner to the elevator.  Does that sound about right?

Megan (and all),

I found a Second Life Quickstart Guide that might be valuable for CTER Metaverse as well.  We might want to hand it out at the Welcome Area.  Take a look and see what you think.

The theme is the cohesive part.  If you have things you want to add I believe that you should feel free to do so.  My interpretation of Tony saying that it should not be 5 different projects was made because there are people of many disciplines.  If we were each doing different things , like if I was doing math, Patrick was doing baseball, Pam was doing computers and so on, that would not be a cohesive program.  If there is a concern about asthetics then we should make one notecard dispenser, one video dispenser and one link dispenser and then just copy and paste it in the building.  I am fine with that, but I do not think we have to worry about having 5 different projects.

Pam,

I guess I'm a bit confused. I was just asking you to send me a picture

of what you get done in world each day so that we can post what has

been accomplished. With regards to notecards I do think that the

notecard "boxes" should all look similar so there is uniformity. I can

make those if everyone can tell me how many they will need for in

their area. Outside of this for screen shots, I'm not sure that we

have to be exactly uniform about them. We can do amazing things with

photo editing software!

Everything else sounds wonderful. I knew that I was glad to paired up

with you for one reason or another. You always do such amazing work!

If everyone could leave the space open between columns to each

walkway, each area has two, that would be great. I placed temporary

signs with names and what is going in that section currently. You can

take these down as soon as you begin building and have an idea as to

what is going on. Would you like me to hang a sign over the "entrance"

to each area specifying what it is?

Thanks!  Sorry for any confusion I created with this.  I really thought you wanted a screen shot to create a manual for all the notecards and objects that were all uniform.  Hey, I got the teleport to work to the next level so maybe we can use that instead of an actual elevator.  In my area there's a crude square to stand on, then right click and choose teleport.  It should take you up one level.  If you take the object you can then rez it and get the script.  You just change the first coordinate to go up.  I think from 22 to 33 got me up one level pretty much.  –Pam

I like the idea of uniform signs over each area.  Thanks!
