It
looks like most of this gang are "math people". I'm wondering,
though, if we haven't already exhausted lots of math ideas with all the math
projects I've seen. =? Maybe not.
Not being a math person, you're going to have to tell me the answer to
that one... Otherwise, we might want to consider a topic like RTI or the
NETS. Something that would be cohesive (not look like a
number of projects glued together - which Tony said he doesn't want) and broad
enough to allow for a variety of aspects to highlight. Any other ideas for topics out there?

Another
idea... We could do a Welcome Center to CTER Metaverse.
Kind of like the one in SL where there are various places where you get
basic info on moving around and functioning there. In highly
technical terms: Kind of a "heads up", "how to" of this and
that. --Pam Again

This might be a good idea considering that some of the other classes
might start using the metaverse for their curriculum,
too.
490 (T. Anderson) is starting to explore using it for the mediation exercise
and many of those kids are new to the program and new to The Program.

I
really like the welcome center idea. Perhaps we could include links and notecards on how to do certain things

I
like the welcome center idea as well. It would be a nice way to pass
along support/advice for the issues we encountered.

I like this idea a lot. Now the way I understood it was that
this would be just for second life. I don't think that is enough. I
think we should dive into other areas of CTER such as discussing moodle. Lets throw this idea by Tony so that we get
first dibs.

I sent a note to Tony with our thoughts just to get in and not have to
worry about competing with another group with the same idea.

Thanks, Matt.

Tony told me to post this in the forum. I hope you all don't
mind that I ran with it. It seemed like we all liked the idea. Tony
also really liked the idea.
Here is what he sent:
"Sounds awesome.
I'm sure CTER will get a lot of use out of that.
A Moodle
tutorial would also be okay, but that sounds like the kind of
thing that
would be better done with a screencast.
I'd concentrate on the
Metaverse aspect.
This is a perfect
project for you guys because you've got the basic
experience
down, but are still new enough to it that you'll remember
what was
most confusing to a newcommer.
Go ahead and post
something about it in the forum to stake your
claim.
:-)"
